ike all cities, her city was ruled by something, someone. The King heralded prosperity, but mostly for himself, his gold favoured no one else, his food fed only the palace. However, under his rule, her world knew order - she could teach, she could write, she could serve and be provided for in return. Bilis didn't complain, everything in life came at a price, she knew. One day the price came for her, it needed to be paid. A great war had swept over the country, wild women warriors spreading panic and terror under the names freedom and justice, they did it to end all kings. Bilis' King, too, was ended - and with him the whole city, they burnt it to the ground. Having lost everything, Bilis decided that if one couldn't be safe from the warriors, one could be safe with them, so she saddled her own horse and followed them, getting accepted into their group without question. As they said, they had needed a bard for a while.
